    I like how it can help people with disabilities. But I just don't trust the company behind it, and having to say "Hey Meta" would make me squirm and feel sick.

    The dark side of this technology is companies corporations instead of having mandatory safety glasses you might be wearing these instead.

    And also I Can Only Imagine places like China would make this mandatory to wear if you decide to walk outside or do anything at public area, and it would absolutely be connected to your social credit score. But this technology is going to come out whether or not meta develop it or not it's unavoidable

    Impressive tech development – i intensely dislike then tech giants use idiotic examples in these videos – i wouldn’t conflate the vertical of helping people with blindness separate from the general customers – i mean honestly I don’t need to spends thousands on tech to help me find the onions in the grocery store – this is the stuff Apple Vision Pro failed so spectacularly – need to find better real world cases to demonstrate – this is not to take away from the tech challenges and efforts Meta are making here – just stay away from BS examples – the world is not waiting for a tech device to find onions in the grocery store imo 😮

    Personally I'm kinda feeling like they are pushing out this tech to 1. Get real world info to train AI robots and 2. Get funding for it. I could be totally wrong, but that's just the vibe I'm getting.

    I'm pretty sure you can train an LLM not only to recognize someone else's voice but also to detect whether the person is lying or telling the truth—imagine a simple red and green LED: red for lying, green for truthful.
