   ‘The basic functions more or less work’ – Krystal…. This is one of the problems. All of the QUALITY in many roles and true customer service will disappear.

   It blows my mind that true subject matter experts still don’t have answers. There are consequences for rolling out technology that’s not fully cooked or implications considered.

   AGI is just a marketing term. It's not on the horizon. No evidence in the scientific literature suggests that. However, AI still poses a lot of risk. AGI is not needed in order for AI to be a threat to workers, our grip on reality, etc. But, I think masking everything under the umbrella of AGI makes it more difficult for us to discuss what these technologies are. I'm a computer scientist and do research in AI for a living. Much of the current hype around AI is being fueled by non-scientists (e.g., Sam Altman) that need the hype to exist to maintain their profit motives and market speculation. The latest GPT-4.5 model has already disappointed AI enthusiasts with its seeming depreciated performance when compared to GPT-4. OpenAI's price for an alleged "PhD Researcher Level AI Agent" costs $20,000/month. That is literally more expensive than hiring an actual PhD researcher (for context, I made less than $30,000 a year as a PhD candidate where I was actively conducting research and publishing papers). AI is running on hype. There are still major risks and causes for concern. But we have to wary to not believe all the hype that's out there.

   Everyone gets a man behind the curtain in their pocket. This is gunna backfire on the elite class. It will be egalitarian and they will collapse. No one is thinking about thing dynamically.

   What exactly is AGI gonna actually do? Cure cancer? Nope. Cure any diseases? Nope. Give us free energy. Nope. Create new weapons for war. Check. Humans are a sad pathetic species. Don’t realize what they had until it’s all gone.

    Krystal admires the Chinese economic model of currency manipulation which caused them to become the number one exporting nation in the world basically. Well, good news, that's the very same model Trump is adopting and in the process of establishing, but it comes with short term pain in the form of inflation on the home front. Will she have the courage to admit it's the same model?

    I’m a software engineer and anyone who tells you AGI is for sure coming in the near future is lying. If anything AI advancements seem to be plateauing. Not saying it for sure won’t happen during Trump’s term it’s just that nobody really knows how far away it is or if it’s even possible, and anyone who tells you otherwise is a charlatan. Don’t get your tech news from Breaking Points, get it from someone like Fireship.

    They're pushing forward, not just because China… But because the top people are afraid now that there IS no AGI that they keep promising. They're panicing that the investment spigot will be shut off. AI, is not conscious, its another tool, and at the moment it's still a parlor trick. There's no indication the the capability hasn't plateaued.
