When I tried the demo, I ran through all the 125 credits in less than 10 minutes. It was as inconsistent. The only plan they offer that makes sense is the $76 a month, for unlimited video generation. If you go for the $28 a month plan with only 2000 something credits, you'll quickly deplete your account. If you have a small studio it makes sense to go with unlimited. But if you're a part time freelancer, who's competiting with other Ai artists on a $30 job on upwork, it's just too darn expensive.

Just wait for some chinese company to offer an alternative for free, or very cheap.

Runway Gen 4 is looking good, but I still prefer Kling for creating—assuming I’ve achieved full Zen mastery by the time their servers decide to respond.

This is cool and all, but you know what will be cooler? Seeing these companies being sued for billions because of the copyright. Youtubers will cry about someone who's copying the same style of the video they made, but will support AI and say how "amazing" it is. What a bunch of hypocrites lmao.

It looks so wierd, like it looks fake and bad but also real at the same time, and i still see inconsistencies. Also The scenes look off like they don't connect. But i see in a short time it getting better, still prefer things made 100 % from real people.

if it is so good why hide half of the videos with sharp cuts? bulls**t, it most likely makes 10 to 60 seconds max, and hallucinates after some runtime. too much buzz for too little time of video. The quality is better tho, just one more year and we will have 10 min+ videos.

For the camera – kicking prompt you should have said the cat sees us looking and kicks toward us. The camera flies out of our hand, flying and tumbling into the distance while still capturing footage.

    April 13, 2025 at 2:49 am

@31:58 It looks like the cat tried to pick the knife with a lock pick and then it opened a "door" and changed clothes. lol

@28:10 … You didn't stop to think "Hmm… maybe the text description listed is actually for the video above it"? Why would it consistently do what you asked for in the next video? That seems like way too much of a coincidence. (I don't know if that's what happened. That was just my first assumption when I saw that)

You say 'not bad' but what i see is still a video generator with too much mistakes. Unless you have deep pockets, it's still not usable for commercial work.

Thing thing that usually gives away AI generated video is how it usually looks overly cinematic and filtered.

23:48 You missed that it turned the flower remnants in the stem into actual pomegranate seeds. Impressive that it recognized the fruit, but it couldn’t figure out to keep the dead plant stuff.

33:34 cat has boot on foot on ground, a sort of human bare foot in the air.

The horse didn’t jump the fence, it morphed through the wire after the jump.

  32. @MorganTheGamerAndWriter

    April 13, 2025 at 2:49 am

Spinning lady at ~16:45, the engine changes her dress from high neck to low neck, too. Cat at 32:32, there is not clear separation between the cat's trousers and the cat's foot shod or unshod foot.

I think the problems with AI video generation (similar to that of image generation) are that it is deviating from what has already been done. Once you start combining two different sources (like the giant sloth in the hoodie crushing buildings), it starts to get confused with what to do with all of that. I mean, sure, this is leaps and bounds ahead of what any of us envisioned computers being able to do in the 80s, 90s, or 00s… but, as it stands, humans are needed to create things in depth. For the time being.

Moreover, if this gets really good, and we can have more and more video content and games that are AI generated, it's just going to saturate the market. Who's going to watch it or play it? I think this will become less a replacement of human workers, but a dilution of human content consumers, as we are spread out between more and more content. Entertainment industries may become more and more challenged. Perhaps there would be some sort of resurgence of real experiences, kinda like the hipster movement but for entertainment. (shrug)

I’m so glad we can accurately put real objects into scenes now, even video! And maintaining consistency! Either or and both is a changer for everything! I hope we see a jump in music AI soon, that’s stagnated since Udio.

Udio still has the best overall quality. Suno has some aspects that are better in general, but the sound quality, fidelity, and potential for detailed and intricacy of the sound is way higher potential with Udio. Generally speaking Udio still has that “digital sandpaper” quality, which makes it stand out as AI. Udio never sounded this way, and at its best the negative sound quality can be said to be like that of a lower bitrate mp3 missing some high end crispness. Ie. Udio can sound more like “real music” whereas at its best Suno still has a slight AI sandpaper sound that never goes away.

The only advance has been possibly better quality with the ElevenLabs teaser last year that I assume they haven’t released yet while they wait for the current legal cases to resolve without having to get sued themselves. It’s unclear how much better, because only a few tracks were shown, and they weren’t that diverse. It’s unclear how much better Google Lyria is. They’ve had that since like 2 years ago, a couple of months after they released that heavily cut down version of MusicLM with only a tiny fraction of what they showed in the MusicLM paper. Couple months later we see Google quietly teasing Lyria from DeepMins saying there’s a (very) limited closed beta on YouTube. Early last summer they showed it off at GoogleIO, so I expected to see it at least after a few months. Nope! Nothing! I assume it’s a combination of holding stuff back for whatever reason, and then also deciding to wait until the legal regulations resolve without needing to be part of the legal case study by being sued themselves.

Not sure why anyone thinks Suno and Udio will lose. Even if somehow a judge ruled against them it is impossible to hold up, since you can’t apply the law only to music, using logic that applies just as much to other media and text. Theres too much money to shut down AI progress, as you’d have to ban all AI models that used scraped copyrighted data, so bye bye all LLM’s, bye bye all AI video, bye bye all Image generators. Course there’s Adobe claiming to only use their stock footage but they’re so scummy they just “stole” all their stock sellers work, and was so indiscriminate theres even Midjourney images in there because Adobe stock allowed
You to upload AI images which were made using the “infringing” models. There’s also Getty Images that also
“stole” their entire catalog. Sure, they say they legally own it, but no content creators agreed to sign this right away, so you would argue this is just as much “theft” as the artists claim scraped-trained models are! The government could even make a case that it would even threaten National Security to say US companies can’t do it. (Other companies will allow it, and the internet is global). If that wasn’t enough, it’s also impossible to enforce because the copyright infringement wouldn’t be the generated media or text, it’s only the model itself. Therefore, because we have open source models, you could use a model to produce the same content and it wouldn’t be infringement. So you’d have to try to legally take down all open source models, but the best you could do is drive all the deceleration into countries that don’t make it illegal. So the only option after that is to shut down the internet and make it a walled garden.

It is just a tool and it can be used to tell profound stories. We have played awesome games with awful graphic quality for decades.
However, many people seem to be just fooling around with those tools and are somewhat afraid to do anything serious, possibly because of the uncanny valley present in all AI-generated content and, of course, all the controversy around it. It's not clear if we even want it to ever reach the realism of real movies or not. It might be safer to use it for clearly generated art, animations, and stylized stuff, to at least avoid the uncanny valley. When watching an animation, we don't expect realism, so we digest small imperfections better.

Runway ML is contributing to the Global Human deception with lies and fake visuals that flood all social media.. Facebook and Instagram is dead.. The movie industry is dead. Google and Youtube is about to die… Why? Cause nothing is real. It's like we are living in a hallucination world. People will begin to move to reality and forget all this crap.
