Refreshing and comforting to see this man speak with such clarity and caution. AI is no surprise, knowing what already was possible and being programmed in the 80ties. Just (exponentially) more of the same. We used to build 80% of the client´s wishes as software and left 20% for the clients to do manually. Most clients were very happy with that balance. Even if AI goes 90/10 it's still "manageable".

He is lying. This blaming the pubic for the dangers tbey created is astonishing. There is a fear mongering by industry experts and media for profit with every new tech or social change in society. The creators of AI know how to fix the problem but they just need the public to be so scared they will pay anytbing to be saved.
So the industry elites profit before, during, and after a new technology is sold to us.

“The Call for AI Regulation Isn’t About Distrusting Technology—It’s About Distrusting Power”
When people express concern about the future of AI and advocate for regulation, it’s often misunderstood as a fear of the technology itself. But in truth, the fear rarely lies in the algorithms, the models, or the machines. It lies in the hands that build, own, and deploy them.
Science and technology, by themselves, are neutral—tools shaped by human intention. No technology has ever killed, deceived, or oppressed without human agency behind it. It is not AI that we fear; it is the people, institutions, and agendas that may wield it without accountability.
This is a pattern we’ve seen throughout history. Nuclear energy offered the promise of abundance, but it also brought annihilation. The internet connected the world, and yet it also fractured it with surveillance and misinformation. The pattern is not accidental—it’s the predictable result of giving powerful tools to systems driven more by profit or dominance than by ethics or compassion.
So when people call for AI regulation, they are not necessarily rejecting progress. Many of them deeply value the science, admire the ingenuity, and even see potential for great good. But they are also realistic: human beings, especially when operating within unchecked power structures, have a long track record of using tools in ways that cause immense harm.
The real concern is this: Can we trust the intentions, values, and incentives of those who control this technology? If the answer is uncertain or negative, then regulation becomes not a roadblock to progress, but a moral necessity—a collective attempt to guide how power is used, not just how it grows.
